Home Again

Today was the first day back to work after our trip to Vegas. Photos will come later. We surprised Bri with our wedding plans! It's been planned for over 2 months now, and I was glad I was able to keep my mouth shut for that long. I was dying to blog about it, but since she reads this, I had to keep quiet. We flew into Vegas last Wednesday, got the license that night, then had the wedding Thursday at the Little Chapel of the Flowers on the strip. Nice, quiet, and informal. The bride wore a hawaiian print shirt and shorts.....and a veil and tiara (thanks to Becky). Bri took some photos, which she needs to send to me. Stayed at the lovely Motel 6, down the street from Hooters & across the street from MGM Grand. Shared our room with Bri and family, and got a wake-up call every morning at 6:30 am from Evelyn. Becky stayed at the same hotel, in an ajoining room, till Saturday morning. Sadly she had to leave before us. Got to visit the cactus garden at Ethel M's Chocolate Factory. Picked up a lovely bright green tote bag there, perfect for yarn.

Yarn? Yup, got us some! We had a list....well, 2 places to check out.....and at the first spot, Wooly Wonders, I spent close to $200. Photos of yarn bliss will be posted later. Then the owner told of another place, 2 Crazy Sisters, so we went there on our way to Gail Knits. Between those 2 places I spent another $130. Gail Knits had a sale on some Cascade, so I picked up some for making a tank top....if I can find a simple pattern OR make up one on my own. We'll see. I just want to make a simple pattern, size 18/20, ribbing at the waist, simple straps, stockinette stitch. If you know of any patterns, let me know!

We got to spend time & money in several casinos, ate food I shouldn't have, and had a great time visiting with the brat, Mr Brat and baby brat. Maybe next year baby brat won't be scared of me. We left on Monday around noon to make sure we got to the airport on time. I managed to leave my purse in the bathroom, and soon as I discovered I didn't have it, someone in the crowd said "I think he has it", meaning the clerk at our gate. He was just getting ready to page me after finding the ID. Nothing missing, too! Thank you wonderful honest people!! Thank you Southwest Airlines!!!

Oh, we flew out of Denver to Vegas, so we had a drive from Rapid City to the airport. When we got back to Denver we were only able to drive about 2 hours till we had to stop for the night. We didn't get on the quick toll road, and ended up in the middle of road work being done, complete with detour and crawling traffic. Then after that fun we got a rain storm, heavy downpour with winds blowing about 35 to 50 mph. By the time we reached the thriving metropolis of Chumwater WY we were done for the night. Slept about 7 hours, then got up, got dressed, and headed for home. Got home around 1 pm Tuesday, and Peedy was at the glass door, crying at us when we got out of the car. He was very glad to see us! In fact, both of the fur kiddies were happy to have us home.
