Muffy

Well, tomorrow Muffy goes to the vet, probably for the last time. She's 15 now, and has a large tumor under her front leg, near her chest. She's had respiratory troubles for the last 6 years, so I see no reason to put her through the trauma of a 1,400 mile road trip. I know if they put her down tomorrow I won't be able to write about it, so I thought it best to write about her now.

This is typical Muffy...her head up in your face, ready to groom you. Her hair is softer than any fur I've felt. We got her from the Humane Society in Pasadena to replace Bri's cat that had been killed by a car. Muffy came to live with us in November of 1990, when she was 6 months old. A real sweetheart all the time. Other cats have joined the family since we got her, and most of them (expect Peedy) were accepted by her. She'll purr for hours on end, even while sleeping. The only time she would act fierce is if you had chicken. Then, if you were to give her some, you better drop it fast before you lost a finger! She also loved bacon, and eating ice cream and lime sherbet from a spoon....no bowl for her please!

I know it's best for her to be put down tomorrow, but it's still hard to go through. She's been a member of our family for over half of Brianna's life. She's been a joy to love, and will be missed so very, very much.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat - it's a hard choice to make, but she had a wonderful life with you and she won't be in pain or discomfort.
