Yarn Hell

I got some beautiful yarn on eBay, a wool/cashmere blend. Over 1500 yards in the skein. In fact, the yarn is just about the same color as this print. Started balling it up on Sunday, and it's a mess!! Oh, did I mention it's laceweight?? It's tangled up in spaces....as in most of it......so I have to carefully weave my ball of yarn over and under strands.......cleaning up the mess one yard at a time. If lucky, I may have the mess balled up by next weekend.

May god have mercy on my soul!

A p.s......the mess is not the fault of who I bought the yarn from, it's just how it was inside the wrapper.

That sucks! Winding yarn into balls is a time-consuming but necessary task under the most favorable of conditions. Having to contend with knotted linguini messes would push a saint into fits of rage. Good luck with that!

I hate when that happens and it happens all the time to me. I think I try to wind it too fast and tangle it all up. I do think the cashmere is worth it though.

I love the idea of lace yarn but hate that it tangles so easily. The day Simba grabbed the untangled portion of the lace yarn and started leaping from couch to chair was the day I decided to buy a swift and yarn ball wounder. Expensive, yes, but there are ways around that. And of course, worth every penny!
